EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) Fugitives

All,

US government is starting a different kind of most-wanted list — for environmental fugitives accused of assaulting nature.

These fugitives allegedly smuggled chemicals that eat away the Earth's protective ozone layer, dumped hazardous waste into oceans and rivers and trafficked in polluting cars.

And now the government wants help in tracking them down.

With the economic downturn forcing companies to trim travel spending, Google intends to offer the next best thing to relaxing plane flights, sumptuous airline meals, and TSA security massages: free video and voice chat for users of Gmail.

Rajen Sheth senior product manager for Google's enterprise group, said that Google has been using Gmail video chat across its more than 60 offices around the globe. "It actually is something that can help people, especially, in tough times, to save money," he said. "It makes it so you can do face-to-face meetings without travel."

A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The next
morning, while
they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees her
neighbor hang the
wash outside.

That laundry is not very clean, she said, she doesn't
know how to wash
correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.

Her husband looked on, but remained silent. Every time her
neighbor
would hang her wash to dry, the young woman would make the
same
comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see a
nice clean wash
on the line and said to her husband: "Look! She has
learned how to wash
correctly. I wonder who taught her this."

The husband said: "I got up early this morning and
cleaned our windows!"

And so it is with life: "What we see when watching
others depends on the
purity of the window through which we look. Before we give
any
criticism, it might be a good idea to check our state of
mind and ask
ourselves if we are ready to see the good rather than to be
looking for
something in the person we are about to judge. "

With the evolution of malware such as Asprox botnet, that not only compromises your website but also infects visitors coming to it. Removing malwares from portals has gained a lot of significance .

HackAlert is an online service for monitoring websites and Web applications for malicious code. As soon as the software detects any malicious code on the webserver, it instantly alerts administrators.

Apart from detecting injected code it can also scan outside links which might drop a malware to a client machine. It comes with an HTML analysis engine, which can identify malicious links embedded in JavaScript or in the form of hidden iFrames. It uses pattern-free behavioral analysis to detect unknown and zeroday malwares. It also provides detailed reports and threats graphs.


You start of by providing URLs which you want to get scanned. You can also upload a file containing the list of URLs.	Next you need to schedule timings for the scan to take place and the interval between the successive scans. Minimum interval you can select is 20 mins.

Through the main console, you can review the URLs currently being monitored, see their reports, update their settings, etc.	Upon detection of a malware the software shows you the severity level of malware present along with its their location and name.

[itsdifferent] Chrome bugged with Carpet Bug

Israeli researcher Aviv Raff confirmed that few days old "carpet bomb" can harm Chrome browser.

Raff explained that this is possible as Google used an older version of WebKit
Webkit is the base rendering API used for rendering HTML Content on client screen, Apple Safari is also using Webkit.

Hackers can use the auto-download vulnerability (aka 'Carpet Bomb') in combination with a [user interface] design flaw and an issue with Java that doesn't display a warning on execution of JAR files downloaded from the Internet.

An Indian researcher, Nitesh Dhanjani reveled this Bug in early May and named for the way it could be used to dump files onto the Windows desktop.
From where it might tempt a curious user into opening the file.

Apple patched this bug in mid-June and updated Safari to 3.1.2.

Google on the other hand used an earlier version of Webkit, and so the bug is also shipped.

There are other interface related issues, Chrome creates button for all files which are downloaded by the browser. In the case above discussed, a malicious software downloaded unethically does not remain on desktop but is kept as a button link in the browser and many users might get victimized with this kind of interface.

This threat now illustrates a bigger problem for Chrome.
